# Deep Tissue vs Swedish Massage

The labels describe general styles, not rigid recipes. Swedish massage often emphasizes flowing strokes and relaxation. Deep tissue massage often uses slower, more focused contact and may use firmer pressure. Either approach can be adapted.

Choose based on your goal, health history, pressure preference, sensitivity, and response, not on the idea that more pain produces a better result. A first-time client who is unsure can describe the desired outcome and let the RMT propose an approach. Consent and pressure can change throughout the appointment.
